SydMUN
An assortment of countries were represented in a range of committees – including the Security Council, where delegates were required to respond swiftly and effectively to a hypothetical situation of genocide in Myanmar; the Human Rights Council, which involved a Universal Periodic Review of the human rights situation in the People’s Republic of China; and the UN Environment Programme, which addressed the environmental impact of armed conflict.
The completion of SydMUN signals the end to another fulfilling year for the UNSW UN Society. Congratulations to Elise Leray-Meyer (UN Environment Programme), Nic Lochner (Second General Assembly) and Fiona Chong (Security Council) for receiving Honourable Mentions for outstanding performance in their committees! Well done also to Eleanor Bath (UN Environment Programme), Tom Liu (International Court of Justice) and Kate Cornford (International Court of Justice) for successfully undertaking the role of Directors in their committees!
