Who are we?

The UNSW United Nations Society is a student run, not-for-profit organisation which seeks to promote the ideals of the United Nations on campus and within our community.

We aim to foster a new generation of global citizens and create greater awareness about pressing international issues.

We provide opportunities that will add an extra dimension to your university degree, including national and international Model UN Conferences.

What do we do?

Model United Nations

Every year we send UNSW delegations to various domestic and international Model United Nations Conferences, including SYDMUN, VICMUN, NCMUN, WorldMUN and NMUN, with locations spanning from Canberra to New York City.

Find out more in the Model UN tab above.

Volunteering program

UNSoc runs a program every year where members get the opportunity to mentor high schoolers from socio-economically disadvantaged high schools across Sydney. These are called “Day Summits” where multiple high schools attend what is essentially a conference. All high school students are also provided with free materials by the society to undertake this activity.

UNSW UNSoc members will be able to develop professional skills, have experience working in a non-profit environment, aid in carrying out the mission of the United Nations and experience working as a mentor to younger students.

All Mentors who join the mission will be trained by the society before the Day Summits, and members of the society will always be present to help out.

Socials & Events

UNSOC also holds a range of speaker panels on campus and social events throughout the year, open to all UNSoc members.

Keep up to date with all UNSOC events and application deadlines by following us on social media or checking our calendar.
